AI is transforming video production across the world. The film industry is being optimised with the use of artificial intelligence everyday.

The new AI that has taken the world by storm is Chat GPT. Have you tested it out yet? We’ve been amazed at the variety of things it is able to do for people!

We’ve been researching how AI might affect the video production industry in the near future, and how it has already come in handy to people within filmmaking.

AI has been used within scriptwriting, pre-production, production and post-production in the film industry.

Scriptwriting:

On Chat GPT and other similar AI programs, all you have to do is type in what you want, and the artificial intelligence will create a script for you.

It’s interesting to see that AI is already being used to assist the script writing process. It can generate unique character and intriguing plot ideas, as well as suggesting alternative storylines and sub-plots.

We’ve tested this out with a few comedic ideas at Shot Blast Media and were amazed to see the precision that Chat GPT operates within this creative industry.

Pre-production:

AI has also been used to assist with tasks, such as location scouting, casting, and crew hiring in pre-production.

Artificial intelligence algorithms are able to analyse data on past successful productions and recommend locations that have similar characteristics.

Furthermore, AI can analyse the resumes of actors and crew members in order to suggest who would work best for a specific role.

Production:

Artificial intelligence has now been used to optimise the technical aspects of video production, such as camera angles, lighting and positioning.

This can help to save time and effort on set, and improve efficiency throughout the filming days.

Post-production:

AI can already aid special effects, sound design and colour grading within video production, and has been used in a few recent films.

Artificial intelligence is also able to analyse previous successful films and suggest tweaks within post-production.

This can optimise the movie being created in order to be received well by the target audience.

Do you think we will soon be seeing complete film productions being produced using only AI?

Or do we need human input to make a successful film for human eyes?

Utilising artificial intelligence within the video production industry could save huge amounts of time and money in the current lengthy and expensive process.

It can help make filmmaking more streamlined and efficient.

However, AI lacks the creativity that people can offer. Humans bring energy and emotion to video production.

Artificial intelligence, at the moment, is unable to do this as well as any person. However, we don’t know what the future will look like for AI!
