The Shot Blast team have been to a lot of events recently and we’ve been doing research to understand what makes for a successful stand.
From this, we came up with our 4 top tips to help make your stands more engaging and to help you get the most out of your events.
A lot of it may seem obvious, but about 50% of companies we have seen at events recently are shooting themselves in the foot by not doing them.
So how do you make the most of your exhibition?
1. Interactive Games/Activities
Have a simple, yet fun and interactive game or activity to get people involved in your stand. They’re an excellent ice breaker and can also be used as an opportunity to capture people’s details; they also give people the chance to get something out of it too.
It’s a win/win tactic and it’s a bit of fun!
2. Give Aways & Prize Draws
These are a great way to make people feel good, break the ice and generate engagement with your stand. It doesn’t matter if you’re giving away stationary, mugs, or our personal favourite – food – or if you are offering the chance to win a fancy bottle of champagne or a spa day.
People as a rule of thumb love free items or the chance to win something!
And, if the prize or give away is branded, it’s a subliminal win for your company. Don’t forget, these are also a details capturing opportunity!
This seems like a no brainer, doesn’t it? But believe me, the number of miserable people we have seen manning stands, playing on their phones, or just looking like they’ve lost the will to live, is crazy.
Even people who might be interested in your product or service are likely to walk straight past you if you display any of the above. So smile, be friendly and engaging and make people want to come and chat to you.
4. Visual Media
Most people walking past you make a judgement about your stand in 5-6 seconds and believe they know who you are, what you do and whether or not they’re interested.
To help people to make an accurate assessment about you and your business, you need to have engaging visuals! Pictures, displays and visual media can help people to understand quickly what you do. They are eye catching, draw people in and also provide a talking point. Video, animation and motion graphics are an excellent way to showcase your businesses and demo your products effectively to gain maximum attention from your stand.
